Please hold a good thought

Two of our sons-in-law are looking for work right now.

Chris, Kendra's husband, is in Kansas to pursue post-graduate schooling. He is looking for a job as he begins classes in library science there. The family will join him next week. We wish them well in relocating, and we are keeping Chris in our prayers as he makes decisions on housing, which campus to take his classes at (he has a couple of options about that), and finding a job.

Michael, Julia's husband, received a lay-off notice last week after just two months at his new job. The main office decided to close his division, which the local office did not know was going to happen when they hired him. The local office has helped soften the blow somewhat by providing some flexibility in the start-date of the changes in benefits. Michael and Julia have been busy the last few days applying for unemployment benefits, Oregon Health Plan, food stamps, etc. We feel fortunate that they already live with us, as there is no way they could manage on the unemployment benefits and pay rent, too. Needless to say, this family is also in our prayers (and in our house!).

I will say that watching these good men look for work makes me not want to EVER complain about getting up and going to work in the morning! I am so grateful for a steady job.

If you are a praying person, our family would appreciate your prayers. Or your good thoughts! We appreciate the encouragement and support of so many dear friends and family.
